Fight the Brain Drain!!

SMA, FMA, and GBC sponsored a happy hour on Friday, February 4th at Colony. Students, alumni, and local professionals were invited to the event resulting in a great turnout! With the red cohorts recently beginning at Simon, it also gave new students the chance to get acclimated and meet other Simon students in a casual enviornment. A big thank you to all of the clubs involved for putting together such a fantastic event!

Simon Dance Club

Need a break from assignments, school, grades, work....blah blah blah!!?? Then just put on your "dancing" shoes and march towards the SDC venue* at Simon School every Friday from 6 - 8pm and move to the tunes of Salsa and Salsa Rueda! All you need is a love for dance, THAT'S IT! We don't charge any membership fee plus it is open to everyone!! YES! Anyone can join the fun! Our club has brought together various members of the university, so feel free to bring friends and/or family too! Come on out and meet with people who share the passion for dance!

SMA Welcomes the Red Cohort!

The Simon Marketing Association held its first informational meeting of the winter quarter on January 15th. The club was excited to officially welcome the new students from the red cohort, as well as discuss its upcoming events. SMA's events include a happy hour, MS alumni panel, Superbowl Ad Party, and more! If you have any questions regarding membership, please email SMA@simon.rochester.edu.

Business Christian Fellowship is Back!!!

Business Christian Fellowship is devoted to making God's love known by serving the entire Simon community. Members come together to learn and discuss how our everyday lives at Simon, home, and the workplace are integrated with Jesus as one. BCF provides a chance for members to support each other, to grow spiritually by experiencing the inward transformation, and to learn through God's power through Scripture and prayer.

Weekly Gatherings:
Beginning on January 20, we will meet every Thursday at 12:40pm in S102. Bring some lunch, and coffee and cookies may or may not be involved from time to time. Come and see!

SMA Corporate Tour

And we're back! SMA completed a very successful Corporate Tour to NYC and New Jersey running Monday - Wednesday December 13-15. The trip was open to the full campus body and included members of SMA and our co-sponsor hasMBA for a total of 25 students in the MBA, MS, and part-time MBA programs. We visited two large CPG companies in New Jersey and spent a full day in NYC at agencies and other marketing firms. Our schedule included: Unilever, DraftFCB, Undertone Networks, Getty Images and Bayer Consumer Care. We were able to hear about the daily projects of marketers in a variety of functions and industries, ask questions about our presenters company, job, and career paths, and even participate in our own brainstorming session (called a Rumble) at DraftFCB. Thanks to all of these great companies for hosting us!

In addition, we capped off our day in NYC with a happy hour in Manhattan, where students from FMA and SMA networked with alumni an professionals from the area. Thanks to all who attended!

The trip was planned and executed flawlessly by first year representatives Pablo de Rosas and Erica Messina - Thanks so much for your hard work! Thanks also to Mary Terwilliger, Director of Corporate Relations for the Career Management Center, who attended the tour with us, and to our co-sponsoring club hasMBA and happy hour co-hosts FMA.

SMA and FMA Look Forward to Corporate Tours

It's official! With finals wrapping up this week, Simon students from SMA and FMA are finalizing plans for their corporate tours next week, Monday, December 13-15. Each club will bring a group of about 20 students who will descend upon the greater New York City and New Jersey area as part of their annual corporate tours. The tours include company tours, professional panels and presentations, and networking receptions and happy hours. The clubs will co-host an Happy Hour in the city on Tuesday, December 14th for alumni and other networking contacts of the clubs. Looking forward to a great trip!
